What do I have to do to become a Member of Counterpoint?

Becoming a member of the Counterpoint church is really easy. You just have to be a regular attendee at our Sunday services and/or one of our house churches. Tell one of our hospitality hosts or hostesses you would like to join and we will take your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address and – presto – you’re a member.

What does it cost to be a Counterpoint Member?

That one is simple:

• Decide to become a Counterpoint volunteer – so it costs some time once in awhile
• Make a commitment to bringing a friend to a Counterpoint worship service or house church
• Become a regular financial supporter based on what you can afford

So how do I know how much to give?

The Bible tells us that God wants our hearts. Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” So we give from the heart with a generosity of spirit – of our time as volunteers and of our treasure.

We don't believe people should give 'til it hurts.  We think giving should be joyful and from the heart.  The essence of the Christian life is to ask the Holy Spirit to help us all grow into a generosity of spirit that informs our entire lives - the choices we make, the relationships we have, the money and time we give to others.

At Counterpoint, we trust that God will give us the financial and volunteer resources we need to do His work.  We are all called to be co-creators of the Kingdom of God on earth.  We ask you to join us in this mission and to give of your volunteer time, your talents, and your treasure based on your capacity to give and what God has put in your heart.

At Counterpoint we don’t want you to give TO the church – we want you to give THROUGH the church to impact lives of people in need and win hearts for Christ

We promise your donations will be managed wisely and well spent to impact lives.

Volunteer Opportunities

When we volunteer we are sowing seeds in the lives of many and making a difference.  Who knows what seeds we sow in our own lives when we volunteer too?   If you feel you are missing something in your life we have many opportunities where you can pitch in and make a difference!

We always need enthusiastic volunteers and the following ministries are really vital to making Counterpoint a success:

• Playing or singing in the Counterpoint Band
• Become a house church host or hostess
• Take a turn as a sound booth technician during the worship – we will train you!
• Hospitality and food ministry, meet and greet – all you need is a great big smile!
• Become a prayer partner after the service
• Room set up and take down before and after the service
• Counterpoint webmaster
• Editor of the Counterpoint newsletter
• Pearl Street Ministries – caring for the hungry and the needy
• Helping out in the office with secretarial duties from time to time
• Teaching church school to our kids - we will train you for that too!
• Counterpoint steering committee member
